THE BUFFALO FARM EVENTS – TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms & Conditions apply to all events, experiences, activities and ticketed attractions operated by The Buffalo Farm at Boglily Farm Steading, Kirkcaldy. By purchasing a ticket or attending an event, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

1. Ticket Purchases & Refunds

• All tickets are non-refundable unless an event is cancelled by The Buffalo Farm.

• Tickets may only be used for the date and time booked.

• If you create a customer account when booking, you may be able to amend your booking online (subject to availability) up to 24 hours before your scheduled event.

• If you did not create an account when booking, please contact us on 01592 646252. While we will do our best to assist, booking amendments cannot be guaranteed.

• Booking transfers are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed once an event has sold out.

• Tickets may not be exchanged for cash, products, gift vouchers or alternative experiences.

2. Admission & Entry

• There is a strict no ticket, no entry policy for all ticketed events and experiences.

• Every person attending an event may require a valid ticket, including infants where stated on the booking page.

• Under 18s must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

• Children remain the responsibility of their parent, guardian or accompanying adult throughout their visit.

• The Buffalo Farm reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone who does not comply with these Terms & Conditions.

3. Arrival Times & Late Attendance

• Please arrive promptly for your allocated session time.

• Some experiences operate to strict schedules and cannot be delayed.

• Late arrival may result in reduced participation time.

• For animal feeding experiences, animals may need to be fed as part of their normal welfare routine and participation may no longer be possible if you arrive late.

• No refunds will be issued for missed or partially missed sessions due to late arrival.

4. Animal Welfare

• The welfare of our animals is our highest priority.

• The Buffalo Farm reserves the right to alter, shorten, postpone or cancel any animal experience if required for animal welfare reasons.

• Animals participating in experiences may vary from those advertised.

• Some animals may need to be withdrawn from experiences without notice if staff believe participation is not in the animal's best interests.

• Visitors must follow all instructions given by farm staff, animal handlers, event staff or third-party providers at all times.

• Deliberate mistreatment, rough handling or behaviour likely to cause distress to animals will result in immediate removal from the experience without refund.

5. Health & Safety Around Animals

• Animal interactions carry inherent risks.

• Animals may move unexpectedly, jump, nibble, brush against visitors, scratch, knock into people or otherwise behave unpredictably.

• Visitors participate in animal experiences entirely at their own risk.

• Suitable clothing and footwear should be worn at all times.

• The Buffalo Farm accepts no responsibility for minor scratches, nips, bruises, damaged clothing, muddy footwear or similar incidents resulting from normal animal behaviour.

• Children must be supervised closely during all animal interactions.

• Children should not place their face near animals, attempt to kiss animals, place fingers inside animals' mouths or engage in unsafe behaviour.

• Certain activities may have minimum age requirements or restrictions which will be stated on the relevant event page.

6. Hand Washing & Biosecurity

• Farm visits carry a very small risk of infection. While rare, illnesses associated with animal contact can be serious.

• Hands MUST be washed thoroughly after touching animals and before eating or drinking.

• Soap and water must be used.

• Hand sanitiser, wipes and gels are not considered an adequate substitute after animal contact.

• Handwashing facilities are available on-site.

• Parents and guardians are responsible for ensuring children wash their hands correctly.

7. Pregnancy Advice

• As a precaution, women who are pregnant, may be pregnant, or have concerns regarding pregnancy should avoid close contact with animals and animal bedding.

• Visitors should seek their own medical advice before attending if they have any concerns regarding pregnancy and farm animal contact.

8. Visitor Behaviour

• Visitors are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully at all times.

• Abusive, threatening, intoxicated, reckless or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.

• Anyone whose behaviour is deemed unsafe, offensive or likely to impact the enjoyment or safety of others may be asked to leave immediately.

• No refunds will be issued where entry is refused or visitors are removed due to behaviour.

9. Working Farm Environment

• The Buffalo Farm is a working farm.

• Uneven ground, mud, animal waste, machinery, vehicles and other agricultural hazards may be present.

• Visitors must remain within designated visitor areas.

• Climbing fences, entering restricted areas or interfering with farm operations is strictly prohibited.

• Appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear are strongly recommended.

10. Weather Conditions

• Many of our events take place outdoors.

• Events will generally proceed in wet weather unless conditions become unsafe.

• The Buffalo Farm reserves the right to modify, postpone or cancel events due to extreme weather, animal welfare concerns, safety concerns or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

• Where possible, affected customers will be contacted using the details provided at the time of booking.

11. Family Area & Play Equipment

• Access to the Family Area, inflatables, play equipment, straw stack, ride-on toys and similar attractions may be included with certain tickets.

• Availability of outdoor attractions may be affected by weather conditions, maintenance requirements or operational reasons.

• Parents and guardians remain responsible for supervising children at all times.

• The Buffalo Farm accepts no liability for accidents arising from misuse of play equipment or lack of supervision.

12. Photography & Filming

• Visitors are welcome to take photographs and videos for personal use.

• The Buffalo Farm may take photographs and video footage during events for marketing, promotional and social media purposes.

• By entering the site, visitors acknowledge that they may appear in such material.

• Visitors who do not wish to appear in photography or video content should notify a member of staff upon arrival.

13. Third-Party Providers

• Certain experiences may be delivered by specialist third-party providers.

• Additional provider-specific rules may apply and will be communicated where relevant.

• Participants must follow instructions provided by third-party presenters and handlers at all times.

14. Liability

• Nothing within these Terms & Conditions excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where such exclusion would be unlawful.

• Subject to the above, The Buffalo Farm's liability shall be limited to the value of the ticket purchased.

• The Buffalo Farm shall not be liable for indirect losses, travel costs, accommodation costs, disappointment or consequential losses arising from event changes, cancellations or visitor actions.
